Bacon Explosion
If you’re just here for the pictures, go ahead and scroll down. Tonight’s activities were inspired by BBQ Addicts and their post on Bacon Explosion. We didn’t know quite what to expect from it, either. We knew it’d be fatty and full of pork, from which we assumed it would be delicious, but couldn’t be certain. So we had to try it ourselves.
A quick trip to the...

Thanksgiving 2008
I had a good break for Thanksgiving, how about you? I was able to take a few photos, so here’s a few of them. For more, go here or here.

Jeremy and Shelby
I was lucky enough to photograph Jeremy and Shelby’s wedding. It was a great time and no one seemed to mind me having to use a flash the entire time.
Here they are preparing to have their picture taken:

Overall, I think Jeremy gives the whole thing two thumbs way up:
Fall
Fall colors are starting to come in nicely up here. Here’s a few shots I took as I was leaving work.

What do you think of the new ads?
Microsoft's New Ads: An Explanation
A lot of people don’t “get” the whole ad thing. The best explanation I’ve seen was a comment on Mary Jo Foley’s blog:
“It was filled with irony, which is why most commentators on here missed it. You have these two super rich dudes buying shoes at a discount shoe place. Seinfeld turning out to be an expert about the inconsequential, how to fit shoes - remember,...

Smugbook
Have Facebook? Have SmugMug? Do you want to escape the walled garden of Facebook with your photos? Try Smugbook.
This is a “preview” release of an app developed by Nate Henderson and me. It quickly walks you through the process of connecting to Facebook and SmugMug to copy all of your photos over, while keeping your albums intact.
Want to give it a try? Download it here....

Kyle hits the nail on the head in this post. Optimism and everyone being polite would go a long way in the current argument.

Would anyone be offended if they got one of these after the wedding?
Please note, no one got these and I was just kidding!
PR Secrets or common sense?
PR Secrets for Startups is an interesting article over on TechCrunch. It proposes 12 “secrets” of PR for startups. There are some good points even if you don’t believe all of it, but you should make sure you also read Robert Scoble’s thoughts on it.
Vista Sidebar
Anyone know why it routinely takes over 150MB of memory while running? I’m running Vista 64-bit, but that doesn’t seem like it should be a reason. The only gadgets I’m running are a resource monitor and two weather gadgets.

Theme Change
I just changed out my theme on Tumblr to something that suited having external content displayed a little better. On the left are my most recent things on FriendFeed. The display still needs tweaked a bit over there to make it fit in; I’ll get around to it sometime. At the bottom are links to a few services, as well as my four most recent photos on Flickr. Let me know what you think here!

Server Down
The server is down for the count. Looks like the power supply is dead and it will most likely not be fixed until some time this summer. Feel free to watch any of the following services for updates instead: FriendFeed Twitter Flickr
